Nav KDAB-KCDK (Daytona Intl - Cedar Key)

Yesterday I flew to Cedar Key from Daytona Beach with one of my friends here, Joao, a Brazilian guy.
It was a really nice navigation across florida... Cedar Key is a really nice place, between a vacation place and a quiet fhishermans place. The all-wooden houses are looking old and the general atmosphere of this place is nice and relaxing. Some pictures... Enjoy !

Ormond Beach

This is my first day in the American family that invited me for Christmas. They are really nice people. I think it's gonna great holidays, especially if some snow falls on North Carolina ski resorts...
I took my bike here, and this morning I went to the beach by bike. I managed to get some good shots of some birds, seagulls and other species that i don't really know.

Licence FAA !!

Well, as some people (who is that ?) seemed to doubt about the authenticity of the Temporary Airmen Certicate, here is a copy of the FAA Pilot Card I received today... m'enfin ...!!!

P51 & other cool stuff...

This WE I went to the Valiant Air Comand, a kind of museum. A member of the Sport Aviation Club is a pilot of a P51 Mustang there. So we got the amazing opportunity to seat in the cockpit of this amazing airplane and a nice tour in the museum with Scoot Yoak "Scooter", our friend pilot of the P51... AWESOME !
The picture of the P51 flying is not mine, but this is the very same aircraft.

Key West & Miami !!!!

The last WE was a long WE (monday off due to Veteran Day). We went (me & Masashi & Marton) to Key West via Miami. A quite long trip by car (950 miles in the 3 days) but also a really good WE! Key West is a really nice place, looking like caribean Island and we really felt like in holidays down there... Miami beach is quite cool too !
A very nice WE, just next time I'll go by plane !!! It's quicker !!!

Awesome Thunderbird !!!

This WE, it was one of the main events of the sport aviation club for this fall semester : WE at Thunderbird airpark ! (http://www.thunderbirdairpark.com/)
This was really awesome !!! A grass strip lost in the middle of nowhere, a house on one side of the runway is just waiting for us... It is a very nice place. We spent a very good time there telling stories, sitting around a bonfire, having some beers and relaxing.
Then, when the morning comes, you just go the the planes and take off.
What a nice place, what a nice WE. I'm really looking forward to do it again, and this time I promise to bring my own cessna !

tropical storm...

The tropical storm is not too far. Shouldn't hit us directly, up here in Daytona... but that's shit for flying. I should have a checkride tomorrow morning at 8 and this evening METARs give gustings at 29kts ... :-(

St Petersburg Airfest. (West coast of Florida)

Sunday, it was St Petersburg airshow.
I took a lot of good pictures, here is a small sample...
Notice the jet truck : two jet engines, 0 to 300 mph in 4 sec. Crazy !
Very good show... John Mohr in his Stearman is amazing !!!

Precision Bombing Mission in Piper J3 Cub

On last saturday, we drew a big target on the runway at Pierson Airfield with some cans of red paint... a big red circle, about 25 ft wide, and a large red dot in its center.
Our mission that day... Drop a bomb on the target !
That was a lot of fun ! Sport Aviation Club rules !

Pas de photos ce WE parce que rien de passionant.
Vendredi vol en backseat en c172 Embry Riddle, mais bon ca c'est quasi every day of the week.
Samedi, une sortie a la plage qui tourne en eau de boudin, et dimanche, pas moyen d'aller a l'aerodrome par manque d'organisation de ma part et aussi manque de communication du club... Bref... un WE bof bof...
Bon je suis tres negatif mais y'a pire quand meme comme WE... Y'a tjrs a faire sur le campus, mais un peu decu parce que y'avait du potentiel a la base (pour faire un excellent WE) et que finalement ca se revele simplement "Bof..." .

Mon WE...Sport Avioation Club.

Un des 2 Piper J3 cub jaune du club. Après avoir passé une partie de la nuit de jeudi dernier a changer un cylindre (avec l'aide d'un ingé de la NASA svp) sur cet avion, il est enfin près a voler.Une petite demi heure de vol sympa ce WE avec cet avion rétro de 60 ans environ. Du pur pilotage au fesses, un avion "stick n' rudder"!
Un des menbres du club etant également pilote de ce bô king 350, une petite visite s'imposait.

mon roommate Pedro

Pedro, mon roommate 35 ans environ. Il est Angolais.
Très gentil, et pas emmerdant. Futur pilote pour angola airlines.
