This blog is mainly designed for both aviation and photo enthousiasts. I try to post a lot of pictures, mainly related to aviation, but sometimes just about me... I hope you'll enjoy this website.

Giraglia Rolex Cup 2009

These days in St-Tropez, there is the "Giraglia Rolex Cup", a yachting regatta. So the harbour is emptied of the usual (huge) motor yachts and full (and I mean REALLY FULL) with racing sail boats.
This is really neat to see all that frenzy around the boats. It may look like mayhem and chaos when seen in the harbour, but it is so nice and beautifull to see them actually sail away one after another when the race departure gets closer.
I really love all the yachting spirit and the yachts themselves. I had a lot of pleasure taking these pictures, that maybe why there is plenty of them.
Enjoy the show !

Antoine De St-Exupéry's Castle

Just across the road from LFTZ airport, there is this nice little castle that happens to belong to the De Fonscolombe family, which is also closely related to Antoine De St-Exupéry.
That's funny to see the place where the so famous writter spent his youth, among the sheeps and the garrigue. That might be the why of the sheep in "The Little Prince"... who knows.
So here is the picture of that lovely little castle.

Waiting for a job ...

I'm now in a weird period, when I get to wait a lot ... Waiting for the ENAC exams results, waiting for answers from the airlines... Waiting , waiting, waiting...
Pilot school is over, I'm a pilot, but an unemployed one, and sometimes it gets boring just to hope for answers or waiting for results.
So I hang out in the countryside, shooting pictures sometimes... trying to find something to keep my mind busy.
So maybe you'll be happy to learn that on the picture above is a "Muscari Comosum" or "Muscari à Toupet" in french. It's quite common here, but until now I had no idea that it was a "Muscari à Toupet" ^^ and that its bulb might be edible...
As you see, you can learn things when you get time of your own ... :-) I'd prefer a cockpit though ...

'Apocalypse now' in Saint-Tropez ...

This day, May 6th, there was a rehearsal of the '8th of May 1945 memorial day' in the Saint-tropez gulf. The actual event will take place on May 8th, same place with the presence of Nicolas Sarkosy, the French President.
There was some cool stuff to see there : a full naval squadron (about 15 warships) and some military aircraft too. I saw an Awacs, a Mirage2000, a Hawkeye, a Super Etandard, a Breguet Atlantique 2... Cool stuff ! There should be the 'Patrouille de France' too but I didn't see them today.
Here are the shots I took. Some picts are not in a very good quality as the warships were quite far away in the mist ... I added some pictures of nice yatchs in St-Tropez harbour as well ...

LFTZ shots again ...

Everything in the title ... No need to explain more than that !
